13 apr NETWORKING WITH EXPERTS FROM GERMANY FOR LEARNING MORE ABOUT AMPHIBIAN HABITAT RESTORATION AND MOOR FROG BREEDING
In early April, we visited the area of Ravensburg near Lake Constance, where we were welcomed by colleagues from Landschaftserhaltungsverbände (LEV), a non governmental organization that provides guidance to farmers on how to implement nature conservation measures.
They presented their work on amphibian conservation, habitat restoration measures, and their experience with moor frog breeding. We also visited some of the habitats the species occupies in Germany and one of the areas where restoration works are being carried out. As part of the field trip, we also visited the breeding station where Mr. Moritz Ott is currently looking after hundreds of tadpoles of the moor frog. His breeding station provides individuals for population reinforcement in the nearby area.
During the visit, we also met representatives of other organizations responsible for nature conservation in the region. During the networking event, we exchanged many valuable experiences which will help us in our work in the future.
