STUDY TOUR TO DENMARK

STUDY TOUR TO DENMARK

At the end of May 2023, the LIFE AMPHICON project team traveled to Denmark, where we were met by project partners from the AMPHI organization and the municipality of Nyborg.

The purpose of the study tour was to exchange experiences of project actions and other good practices on the topic of amphibian conservation and restoration of their habitats.

We visited the project areas of our project partners, where they presented the measures they implement and the challenges they face. As part of the study tour, we also visited the breeding station for the target species of the project, the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina).

In Copenhagen, the AMPHI representative presented us with an example of good practice, urban habitats for amphibians. They explained what measures were taken to preserve the water and terrestrial habitats for two amphibian species (the moor frog and the common frog) during the construction of the residential area, which started at the beginning of the new millennium.
