EDUCATIONAL TRAIL IN LJUBLJANSKO BARJE AMONG THE FINALISTS FOR “BEST THEMED TRAIL 2024”

Pot na Mah (Mah Trail, where “Mah” refers to the local name for the marshland), which opened in Ljubljansko barje Landscape Park at the end of May 2024, is one of the finalists for the Best Themed Trail 2024.

The trail covers a variety of themes – from the story of the creation of the moor and its transformation into a cultural landscape to the exploration of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.

Seven stations offer interesting and educational content. These include a new bird observatory and a nature classroom, where young researchers can learn about the life of amphibians and their importance to the ecosystem, alongside a learning pond and an interactive amphibian themed alphabet (»Žabeceda«).

The new educational trail has already impressed many visitors, so we are particularly pleased that it has also attracted the attention of the expert committee of the Slovenian Tourist Association. The committee visited the trail in the summer and placed it among the finalists in the My Country – Beautiful and Hospitable competition in the Best Themed Trail 2024 category.
