We Established the Website of the Coordination Centre for Amphibians in Slovenia

The website of the Coordination centre for amphibians in Slovenia (CCA) is primarily intended for the presentation and review of activities about conservation of the amphibians and their habitats in Slovenia. Users of the website can easily and transparently access data on amphibians that were collected on Slovenian roads and their habitats.

On the CCA website, we will regularly publish trending news and new issues of the e-Newsletter Regljač. Our goal is to encourage the cooperation and networking of individuals, volunteers, associations, institutes, organizations and all others that participate in the conservation of the amphibians in Slovenia. With their help, we presented some actions that are saving frogs on Slovenian roads and their results from previous years. We are aware that in the initial stage of the preparation of the review on the national level we couldn’t include all activities related to amphibians and roads but we wish that with the help of coordinators and participants of the actions we will be able to successfully upgrade information in the future.

In the CCA we are also collecting data in citizen in science projects. Through different communication channels, we received numerous data and photographs of amphibian observations in their habitats. Some information that was sent to CCA has already been included in the database of the Centre for cartography of fauna and flora. Data is presented via the BioPortal on an interactive map, which we will also be constantly upgrading.
